Malta: Paradise in the Mediterranean

Situated far out in the Mediterranean, Malta and its sister islands are some of the warmest all year round spots in Europe. Situated 60 miles south of Sicily and 180 miles north of Africa, Malta has an ancient and very varied history making it a popular sightseeing destination.

Malta is approximately 17 miles long, and 9 miles wide, while the nearby island of Gozo is roughly 9 miles by 5, but while Malta has a population of 345,000 the corresponding figure for Gozo is only about 30,000. Both islands have a striking coastline and plenty of private beaches and coves.
